Czech defender Martin Jiranek is likely to miss their next two euro qualifiers. Czech Republic's hopes of qualifying for the Euro 2008 finals suffered a second blow when defender Martin Jiranek was ruled out joining David Lafata in missing both the match against San Marino but more crucially the Republic of Ireland on September 12. Jiranek, capped 31 times, is set to undergo an ankle operation after suffering an injury in a Russian league tie for his club Spartak Moscow against Saint Petersburg and will be out for up to two months. Germany lead Group D by five points.
