Gregory Coupet set to miss France's next euro qualifier

France goalkeeper Gregory Coupet is set to miss their next euro qualifiers following an injury damaging his knee ligament while training with his Olympique Lyon club on Thursday. Coupet who tore a left knee ligament after his foot got caught in the net, will undergo surgery on Monday. Coupet will miss at least four Euro 2008 qualifiers and notably the next one, a potentially-decisive match against world champions Italy on September 8 in Milan. The injury is a severe blow for France and also for Lyon, who start the Ligue 1 season by welcoming Auxerre on Sunday. France remains leader in Group B with 18 points. Italy is second with 16 points and Scotland in third place with 15 points.
